Adding Documents (Attaching Files, Adding Web Links, Linking Documents) |
You need a document to store, organize and manage your information. Go to Document Manager, open a folder and click on Create a New Document.
You enter a document wizard process that contains 4 steps.
The 1st step is choosing a template. A template systemizes your data and helps you retrieve it easily. Depending on the
document that you are planning to create, you choose one or another template. To preview a template, please click on icon at the left of the Template Name. Choose Blank (the most basic template) and click on the Next button.
When you become more familier with eDocsOnline, we recommend you create templates according to your own needs.
At the 2nd step you set the fields for a new document. Fill in the Descriptive Name field and click on the Next button.
If you have extra information and a lack of fields, click on Custom Fields link and add field(s) for this document.
At the 3rd step you fill your document with concrete data (attach files, add web links, and link other documents). To attach files, click on Click here to attach new files, browse your PC, select a file and click on the Attach button.
You can attach more than one file to a document. We even suggest that you attach a group of files united by the same topic not just a single file.
To add web links, click on Click here to add web links, type in the URL in the format http://www.edocsonline.com and click on the Save button.
Press the Next button when you are done.
At the 4th step you review the created document. Click on the Save button when you are done.
Your document has just been created.
To view what can be done with the document, please visit Managing Documents section.
You may want to change the prefix for Document ID. Go to Administration Tools --> Workspace Settings --> Document ID Format.
